What are eyelash extensions?Eyelash Extensions are individual strands of synthetic fibers made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. The single strands are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.
-
How long will a set of eyelash extensions last? When applied by one of our artists, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, refills should only be required every 2-4 weeks.
-
What should I do before my lash appointment?• Thoroughly wash your eyes with oil free face wash or eye makeup remover. • Do not wear any eye makeup, but if you do we have remover here! • Do not curl lashes.
-
How long will it take to apply eyelash extensions and how is it done? The application process for lash extensions normally takes about 90-120 minutes for a full set of lashes, and 45-60 minutes for a refill. You will lay comfortably in a lounge chair with your eyes closed while relaxing ambient music is played in the background. During application, your lower lashes will be covered and the extensions will be applied only to your upper lashes one at a time.
-
How do I choose the look I want?Your technician will consult with you to understand what type of style you are interested in and what look will work best with your natural lashes. The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to very voluminous! Samples pictured above.
-
Do I have to do anything to prepare for the service? To remove any eye makeup, use an oil-free makeup remover to cleanse your lashes prior to the appointment as well to remove any leftover mascara. Lashes should not be permed or manually curled at the time of appointment.
-
What happens if I choose to have my eyelash extensions removed? We do offer a service to have extensions removed involving a short 30-minute appointment in which we apply gel remover. The gel remover is applied on top of the extensions without touching the skin and allowed to sit for 10 minutes. Once the adhesive is dissolved, the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.
-
What should I do if I have an allergic reaction to the adhesive?Primarily take a patch test to check for sensitivity to the adhesive. However, if a reaction does occur we have found that taking a Pepcid AC with Benadryl helps reduce swelling, redness, and block for further reactions. This however is not a solve all solution, people can still have reactions. Another option is a sensitive glue however your retention will drop dramatically and volume lashes are not possible due to a slow dry time.
-
Are allergic reactions common?Reactions are not too common, but they do happen, and it does seem possible to gradually acquire an intolerance for the adhesive.
-
How do I care for my lash extensions?Do not get the lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours, including: • Steam • Tears • Showering • Swimming • Eye makeup removed This is crucial to get the best retention possible! Brush your lashes straight as needed, but never when they are wet! No oil based products Do not touch, play with, or pick at your lashes! Do not use lash curler on them
-
Can I wear makeup with my lashes?Yes! Although we don't recommend wearing any mascara that isn't extension safe or oil based products, as it will shorten the life of your lash extensions. We have extension safe mascaras, cleansers/makeup removers, and sealers available for purchase!
-
Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes? No! When applied properly, with perfect isolation and weight, eyelash extensions will not harm your natural lashes. Our lash artists are all experienced and certified. The most important thing to them is the integrity of your natural lash. During your initial consultation, they will evaluate your natural lashes to ensure you get the lashes that work best for your natural lashes so that you will never have damage or breakage!
